Insulation is inserted on top of DPM and then as we can see the reinforcing for the concrete slap is laid in place. Note they will put the reinforcing bars on to spacers in order to achiecve the allowable cover for the concrete slab.

After the installation of the sand blinding the contractor next installs the DPM

Following the correct installation of the tanking the earth and gravel is back filled as shown here.

Second layer of Bitium starting to be applied note all layers must overlap in order to prevent any water getting through, all joints are also staggered see above image

After the concrete has set the formwork was removed next stage is the application of Bitium tanking. painted on with a roller then the two sheets are torched on sealed.
